New Pod Designed for Innovative Drink System
The Opportunity
The client turned to PTI for assistance in the development of a blow molded part for a new, innovative drink system. The concept was to deliver a completely new experience by combining the pod and a specially designed system tailored for both on the go and at-home use. When the client came to PTI, they only had a design house sketch and needed the part to be commercially produced.
The Innovation
The pods contain all the ingredients that have to be housed separately. To be consumed, the pod was designed to interface with the dispensing system that extracts the pod ingredients into water to create the final beverage and deliver a completely new consumer experience.
The Outcome
The end result is a PET pod specially designed to interact with the dispensing system while providing the high barrier performance required to preserve the ingredients.
